Alcester Winter Festival '12

The Alcester Winter Festival happens in addition to the annual Alcester Folk Festival and will take place from Friday 24th until Sunday 26th February 2012 at a new location at The Swan Hotel, Alcester, in Warwickshire. It is a winter version of the well known Singers' festival and will features workshops, folk clubs, singarounds and sessions.

Line-up

Performers at the event, which will run on Friday and Saturday evening and up until 5pm Sunday, so far include Jon Harvison, Hector Gilchrist, Chris King, Andy Wall, Tony Barrett, Tony Portlock & Matt Thorpe, Loxley, Alhambra, Enchante, Alison & Jackna-mara, Belzebub, Graham Collins, Speake & Lowe, Moses & the Ref, Malc & Gill, Hilary Ward, Lorraine Wooldridge, Les Sullivan, Barlowcree, Copper Kettle, Laners, Sharp as Razors, Peter Grassby, John Morris & Morning After, Mick Tems and Olly Price, Tom Paterson & Dave Morton, Andy Fincham and Kate Akers, with MCs including Ben Davies, Tony Barrett, and Sean Humphries, plus more ats as yet unconfirmed.

Other events

There will also be folk clubs, singarounds, story telling, and sessions. Plus input from festival goers to make it an all inclusive event.

The event starts at 8pm Friday, up until 5pm Sunday and food will be available all weekend, and there will be a selection of real ales on offer in the bar.

Tickets

The Price per ticket is £25 including indoor camping or hard standing for a camper van or caravan. Camper/Caravans will be able to park behind that hotel (limited space so book early). If breakfast is bought, people will be able to indoor camp in the hotel. Rooms are also available in the hotel at reduced rates so please mention the Festival when you ring to book 01789 766999.
