More info

Combining music, comedy, art, cinema, magic, The Apple Cart is a diverse festival that welcomes everyone to it's kaleidoscopic, colourful playground, designed to bring out the kid that's hidden in us all. From the people behind Field Day and Underage festivals this festival of ideas adopts a melting pot ethos, presenting London with a multi-disciplinary take on the festival experience: no other event in the capital has Turner prize winners and world class magicians and burlesque stars sit happily alongside arena-filling comedians and established music legends all on the same bill, on the same day.

Magic

The Apple Cart will once again host a stage curated by members of the renowned magicians club The Magic Circle, who will provide a host of otherworldly entertainment and magic for kids and adults. Compered by Richard Pinner, and will feature Alan Hudson, Andy Boughtflower, Christian Lee, David Weeks, Oliver Tabor, and Piff the Magic Dragon.

Art Car Boot Fair

In 2012 the event will host the Art Car Boot Fair once again offering a selection of exciting art works and art wares from the boots of classic cars.

The Art Car Boot Fair will present 'The Art of Influence'. There will be all manner of ways to make your mark, including by gun, plus the 30 second art masterclass, and the art improvement clinic where anything you have on you can be transformed into art by a team of on-site artists. Sideshow attractions include the 2 hour portrait, the potato print portrait and poem portraits. Additionally, music will be provided courtesy of east London haunt the Bethnal Green Working Men's Club. Plus, adults and children alike can help make the biggest splat painting and take a piece of abstract expressionism home with them, rolled up in their pocket.

The House of Fairy Tales

For the second year running, The Apple Cart will play host to Gavin Turk's 'The House of Fairy Tales' project, which brings the magic of the silver screen to a young audience with 'Candlelit Matinee - The House of Fairy Tales Film Theatre' - from script writing, story-building, set building, costume, special effects. There's even a chance for the audience to create and star in their very own films.

Cabaret

The cabaret tent will be making a return to Victoria Park adding some spice into the mix. The salacious line-up features Dickie Beau, Kiki Kaboom, LipSinkers are back after proving a hit last year, plus Fancy Chance, Holly Penfield, Holestar, I Am Fya, John Sizzle, Mae Martin, Mr Teds, Myra DuBois, Piff The Magic Dragon, Ryan Styles, The Fabulous Russella, and Willis.

Accommodation

This event does not have camping but there are a number of hotels, hostels and guest houses in the area.

More information will be here when available.
