Bearded Theory started in 2008 as a fancy dress party with beards for 400 people with bands and DJs, with all profits to Oxfam. The festival is located in the Derbyshire countryside and is a family friendly music event, offering plenty of activities for the children.
in 2009 the event slightly increased in size to a capacity of 1,500 people with profits going to the charities Shelter and Padley Day Centre in Derby (Homeless hostel).
