The Big Snow Festival takes place from Sunday 13th to Sunday 20th March 2011 at Andorra's premier ski resort, Arinsal in Vallnord. The festival offers a week of skiing and snowboarding combined with music acts and DJs.

Line-up

Devlin, Goldie, Darren Jay, Micky Finn, Wretch 32, Camo & Krooked, DJ Fresh, Danny Byrd, Kissy Sell Out, Brookes Brothers, High Rankin, Hot City, Example, Judge Jules, Tim Westwood, Fearne Cotton, Scott Mills, Anne Savage, Eddy Temple Morris, Stereo:Type, Rawkus Noise, and DJ Lee John with many more acts still to be announced.

Promoters

Launched by the organisers of the sell-out UK music event, The Big Reunion, offers music talent from promoters including Judge Jules, Propaganda, Trinity, Good Greef, Riot, Remix, Viper and Kissdafunk.

St Patrick's day Street Party

Also announced for 2011 by organisers is the St Patrick's day Street Party which will take over the centre of Arinsal with a perfect mix of Irishness and good old wrongness. The party will be curated and hosted by Uncle Si and Grandpa Screech. The duo return following this year's their fondue night (complete with a Xmas set and barn dance section…) and will be ripping up the main street with their 'special' mix of vocal classics, music, street performers, random events, and fancy dress with a slant towards crap Leprechaun outfits.

The resort

Arinsal is in the Vallnord ski area and has an altitude of 2560m ensuring snowy peaks throughout the season. From gentle, open pistes for complete rookies, to huge powder bowls and tree-lined runs for experts, the area offers skiing and boarding landscapes for all levels. It has 40,000 square metres of freestyle terrain, with a half-pipe, rails, kickers, boxes and a designated chill-out space.

For complete novices or for those wanting some top tips to improve their snow skills, Vallnord offers an excellent ski and snowboard school, with English speaking instructors.

Connected by cable car to the neighbouring resort of Pal, the area is collectively known as Vallnord and is famed for its slopes, nightlife, and cheap prices.

Tickets

Tickets with various flight, accommodation and wristband options can be purchased. Big Snow Packages are also available, which include return flights from Manchester and London Gatwick, transfers, seven nights accommodation and access to all the events from £399 with a deposit offer available for £50.

The accommodation and events wristband can also be purchased separately with accommodation from £170ppp, transfers £59pp, and an all events wristband is priced at £129.

Getting there

Arinsal lies in the heart of the Pyrenees, is nestled between France and Spain and is connected to neighbouring Pal. Just three and a half hours from Barcelona and Toulouse Airport, the resort is easy to reach.

The festival are doing separate transfers from Barcelona airport for just £59 return. It doesn't matter which airline this transfer is offered if booked in advance on-line.

Coaches

The Big Snow Festival coaches depart regularly from Barcelona Airport between 12.15pm and 10.15pm on Sunday 13th March. Due to the time it takes to collect luggage and clear immigration, please do not book a transfer if the flight arrives after 9.30pm.

Departure transfers depart Arinsal for Barcelona Airport between 5am and 3.30pm on Sunday 20th March only. The transfer takes 4 hours and you should allow 2 hours for check in, therefore you should not book a transfer if the flight departs before 11am on Sunday 20th March.

For transfers on any other date or for any other airport than Barcelona, festival goers will need to make their own transfer arrangements.

More information will be here when available.
