Blissfields returns as a three day event for 2009. The dates are confirmed as Friday 3rd to Sunday 5th July, and it will be back at Bradley Farm, Bradley, Alresford, Hampshire for around 1,000 festival goers.
Blissfields is an intimate festival for all the family in the heart of the Hampshire countryside. This is a festival for people who want something as far removed from the big commercial festivals as you can get! There will be quality food and beer on sale all at a reasonable price.
The festival promotes quality unsigned and up and coming bands. No acts have been confirmed yet.
Music takes place across five stages: The main open air stage; Big Top Stage mixed entertainment; Tractor Disco Stage (DJs) – An open air carnival on a tractor trailer for all day frivolity; Hidden Area – A secluded hideaway in the woods, groove in the grove!; and The Campfire which offers acoustic, DIY, and other entertainment.
A limited number of early bird tickets were on sale priced at £35 for the weekend with camping, £22 for those aged 8-16 for the weekend with camping, there is no separate tariff for those not camping. Campervan tickets are priced at £20, and Thursday night camping available for an extra £7.50. Children aged under 8 are free. Full weekend tickets will be priced at £41, and there will be day tickets available at a later date priced at (from 5yrs) Friday £20, and Saturday £25.
The ticket offer has sold out, expect more tickets in the new year.
The event is offering Thursday night extended camping, music and art workshops for adults and kids plus other assorted fun. Organised entertainment will be from 4pm Friday 3rd July until 1.30am Sunday 5th July. The campsite will be open from 4pm Thursday 2nd July until 6pm Sunday 5th July. The open mic session after the main stage closes on the Friday night will also make a return. Plus tractor rides, pub price drinks with quality real ales and cider, food, craft, and festival stalls.
Blissfields supports awareness and fund raising for their chosen charity Practical Action. The festival has a green ethos, incorporating recycling, and awareness of environmental issues during the weekend.
