All the way from Newport, South Wales came their very own alternative 10 piece male voice choir ready to rock, shock and amuse the crowd in equal measures performing at Boomtown Fair to an appreciative receptive audience on Saturday afternoon 13th August.
The old kids on the block from the Welsh Valleys irreverently 'wapped' their way through a host of their classic tunes including such notables as 'Guns Don't Kill People – Rappers Do', 'Woo Woo, Woo', 'Your Mother's Got A Penis', 'Older Ladies', and of course not forgetting 'Your Missus Is A Nutter', loosely based on Victoria Beckham (allegedly).
A particular highlight was Maggot's gymnastic performance during the track 'Oh Maggot', impressively being able to lift his leg in a very unusual position for such a tall lad. The famous quote from Chantelle in Celebrity Big Brother, (which Maggot appeared in in 2006 ) "Is it Maggot or Maggitt" – still amuses me to this day.
Eggsy, Rhys the Maggot, Adam Hussain and all the Newport massive shimmered in their shell suits and designer trackies in the late Saturday afternoon sun giving the responsive crowd a treat featuring their own unique brand of chavtastic culture mixed with satirical gangsta rap.
Goldie Lookin' Chain proved themselves to be real crowd pleasers and from the words of their 2005 album were "Safe As f*ck!"
