Brighton Festival is an annual showcase for theatre, music, dance, performance and books, from both local and international artists.

The music acts announced are Dennis Rollins' Velocity Trio, Erased Tapes: Fifth Anniversary Night, Africa Express Sound System, Camille O'Sullivan, The Best of BUG: The Evolution of Music Video, Live_Transmission, James Vincent McMorrow, members of Bellowhead Plus Maddy Prior, Thea Gilmore, Joan Wasser (Joan As Police Woman), Jerry Donahue, Dave Swarbrick, Lavinia Blackwell, Blair Dunlop, Sam Carter, PP Arnold, One Pig, Fatoumata & Baloji, Krystle Warren and The Faculty, War Sum Up, Hagen Quartet, Jerusalem Quartet, Steven Osborne, English Chamber Choir, Matthew Rose, Bow Down, A Celebration of William Byrd, Mahler & Schubert, Kate Royal, Philharmonia Orchestra, Iestyn Davies & Richard Egarr, Brighton Festival Chorus, Richard Egarr, King Priam, and Fire.Throughout three weeks of entertainment the festival aims to bring great art to Brighton, and to harness the creative energy of the city to make great new art of its own.
