The Cheltenham Music Festival is a huge summer celebration of live classical music with events ranging from free family workshops and young artists’ projects, through to concerts from well-loved performers and the promotion of contemporary composers.
This year's line-up includes Archduke, Birtwistle, Copland, Different Trains, Esterhazy, Felix, Goa, Hoffnung, Isserlis, John Williams, Klezmer & Kaddish, Late Beethoven, Mendelssohn Massive, Nicola Benedetti, O for the wings of a dove & OAE,
Premieres Past and Present, Quartets, Reich, Shower Scene, Tabla, Utter Unalloyed, Bliss, Vertigo, Wendy Cope, Xerxes, Yummy, and Zadok, with many more still to be confirmed.
The Festival has developed over sixty-five years, and as well as orchestral, chamber, choral and solo music, the festival also boasts education and community projects, a series for young musicians and a lively Fringe, including dance, world music and more.
Events take place in a variety of venues including the Town Hall, the Pittville Pump Rooms, various local churches, Tewkesbury Abbey and the Everyman Theatre.
