Now in its 22nd year, Didmarton Bluegrass Festival, held annually at the Kemble Airfield site, in Gloucestershire is a bluegrass and acoustic music festival. Attracting the top names from the UK and international bluegrass scenes, the event takes place between Thursday 2nd and Sunday 5th September 2010.

Line-up

this year the packed festival bill will be headed by Peter Rowan (plus his full Bluegrass Band) and the Claire Lynch Band. The 2010 event will be kicking off on Thursday 2 September with a special separately charged concert with Show of Hands. The festival line-up includes Leon Hunt and The Scoville Units, Thunderbridge Bluegrass Boys, Jock Tildesley and Vera Van Heeringenn, A Band Like Alice, The New Essex Bluegrass Band, Monroe's Revenge, Jack Lawrence, Richard Plank, Bill Smarme and The Bizness, The Stone Saloon, and Fastest To Canada. Several open mic sessions will be running throughout the weekend and there are yet more bands to be confirmed.

Tickets

An early bird (before 1st June) adult full weekend ticket (inc. camping) is priced at £65 (full price £67.50), a two day Saturday & Sunday ticket (inc. camping) is priced at £60 (full price £62.50). Adult day tickets (all with no camping) are priced at £25 for Friday or Sunday, £30 for all day Saturday, and Saturday night only (after 5pm) £25. Other attractions

The festival offers a range of musical styles that also embraces blues, jazz, folk and everything acoustically in-between, packing in around 35 artists, during nine scheduled concerts along with instrument and dance workshops, bonfires, banjos and a biker run bar that never seems to close.

Didmarton also offers a raffle, displays, workshops, concerts, dance displays, instrumental seminars, the tuition tent, a wide range of traders and quality catering.

Camping

A full weekend ticket permits you to camp on site from Friday morning until noon on Monday of the festival weekend and has facilities and showers. Arrival on site is permitted from Wednesday afternoon. Additional nights (Wednesday and Thursday) are subject to a surcharge.

Please note that all the site facilities will be operational from Wednesday afternoon until Monday morning. The bar will be open from Thursday through to Sunday night.
