Saturday overview

Download Festival 2005

Sunday 12th June 2005

After the superb weather from the first day of Download, it was only to be expected that the British weather would soon change and sure enough for day 2 the weather turned from superb to overcast for most of the day with the odd glimpse of blazing sunshine here and there.

Anthrax

Yesterday we had Megadeth playing their last ever UK show, and today we had the mighty Anthrax reforming with the original line-up to keep us amused with their brand of brutal hard rock.

Velvet Revolver

The highlight of the day was a close call. Velvet Revolver certainly drew a gigantic crowd and entertained them superbly, but my personal highlight was Bowling For Soup - they brought their cheeky pop-punk tunes and literally brightened up the day with their infectious melodies.

Bowling For Soup

In comparison to yesterday- there was a hell of a lot more people than yesterday and when it was time for the legendary Black Sabbath to play- there wasn’t a spot of grass anywhere to be seen- the entire arena and grassy banks had been covered with people trying to catch a glimpse of the fathers of rock.

They'll be full reviews as well as fantastic exclusive photos online next week. We could give them to you now, but we'd much rather be having fun – as it should be, we're out-front enjoying the festival to the full.
