The Eastbourne Festival was established in 2008 to celebrate Eastbourne's identity and history, utilising non-traditional or outdoor venues, showcasing contemporary, traditional and experimental work produced across the arts, by local artists, musicians, performers and practitioners. The 2009 event happens from Saturday 11th until Saturday 25th April.

Room 2 will be hosted by local promoters MASS Recordings who hold current residencies for The Gallery at Ministry of Sound and Brighton's Honey Club. Playing the very best in electro, house and dubstep will be Brimmer, Jon Curtis, Kieran Brindley, Migzy and the Aberdeen Crime Scene.
Other musical acts will include Magdalena Reising, Ska Toons, Tricky Beats African
Drum Band and Black Cultural Foundation DJs, Kirsty McGee and Mat Martin, Concentus Chorale, Charles Daniels and Hendrik Bouman, Fretful Federation Mandolin Orchestra, Giovanni Guzzo, and John Hancorn.
The Eastbourne Festival will offer a broad programme of traditional, contemporary and experimental visual arts, music, literature, dance, comedy, film and performance events.
