Evolution Music Festival return over two days again, with a crowd of 60,000 expected over the weekend and culminating in the outdoor shows at Spiller's Wharf on the Gateshead quayside on the Diamond Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend on Sunday 3rd and Monday 4th June 2012.

Alongside hosting some of the biggest acts on the planet Evolution will once again introduce the crowd to a wealth of emerging local talent on the third stage - partnered with Generator this stage gives local talent a chance to get their foot on the ladder and play to the biggest crowd of their careers to date.

There is still more to announce including the Evolution Emerging programme, Music Futures and the Jumpin Hot Club programme of shows that will be wrapped around Gateshead venues.

Evolution Emerging 2012 will see over 25 emerging North East artists playing alongside headliners at 6 venues in the Ouseburn Valley, Newcastle on Friday 1st June.

The Cluny: Beth Jeans Houghton & the Hooves of Destiny, Lulu James, Deerhart , Boy Jumps Ship, Eeves.

The Tyne: We Are Knuckle Dragger, Nately's Whore's Kid Sister, O'Messy Life, Acrobatic Society, The Watchers.

The Cluny 2: Fantasy Rainbow, Natasha Haws, Amy Holford, Let's Away.

Star & Shadow Cinema Official Aftershow Party: (lineup TBA), Young Liar, Weird Shapes, Apollo Gets The Girl, Ghosts of Old Berlin.

The Tanners: Bird Island, Iceni, Reckoner, Ben Watson.
