Gatecrasher Summer Soundsystem 2000Scott Bond - InterviewMonday 19th June 2000So you've played already…
Yeh, I played 4.30 till 6 in the main arena…it was really really good. Enjoy yourself?
Yeh, immensely. The energy in the main room… it was 4.30 till 6 in the afternoon, and it was packed and rockin'. What time did you get here?
One o'clock. What have you been doing?
Walking around having a look really….. Do you get nervous?
Sometimes, anything you do like this you know you've got to deliver. If something goes wrong with the sound or with the monitors, everyone just thinks you haven't delivered, but there are a lot of things that have got to be right for it to be really good - but it worked well.
Done any other festivals?
Yeh, I've done Homelands [reviews/interviews], Homelands Ireland [reviews], Creamfields…. How did you survive the mud at Homelands?
Sounds like a bit of a pain…
It was half way through it!! Fave festivals?
Today, with the weather we've had, and the attitude of the people, it's one hell of a day for me really. All last year was great, Homelands was great, Creamfields was great, but today, just everything's perfect. England v Germany are on, it's red hot, the people are here, it's a great site. Fave tune?
Delerium, Silence, the DJ Tiesto remix. Dreams, Miss Shiva… which is a remix of er… Dreams! [laughs] Who are you going to see?
I'm going to listen to Sasha, Van Dyk, Oaky [Oakenfold], the whole thing really. Do you spend time at festivals seeing/doing other things besides the acts?
The thing I hate about them, is you always end up in the VIP room, and then suddenly… it's finished! And you go, "Aw, fucking shit! I've missed it!". So I'm trying to avoid it, but it's the one place me and my friends keep coming back to to check in… interview by Butterfly photos by Butterfly |
