The Wombats

The Great Escape is an international live music event; a festival of around 200 acts from across the globe performing at about 25 venues within Brighton City Centre, happening from Thursday 15th until Saturday 17th May.

This is your chance to go to this event which has the most new bands playing of any festival this year. You could be seeing the likes of The Wombats, Mystery Jets, The Futureheads, The Ting Tings, Young Knives, Black Mountain, Tunng, Fujiya and Miyagi, Peter Von Poehl, School of Langauge, and Lightspeed Champion. Also playing are Joe Lean and the Jing Jang Jong, Torngat, and Wintersleep, Canterbury, Crystal Castles, Johnny Foreigner, One Night Only, The Subways, This City and Yeasayer and many, many more acts who are confirmed for the festival line-up. The Great Escape Festival utilising the spaces that Brighton has to offer. The main activity will be focused around the "Level" and the seafront, with some larger venues helping to reduce any queuing. The venues will all be a close walk from each other with each venue equipped to an international showcase standard. Shocases include The Best Of South By South West @ The Great Escape, Grime and Hip Hop Artists @ The Great Escape and Fat Cat Records Showcase.

As well as the live music, there's also a number of "Parkinson" style interviews with luminaries from the world of Music and Media, to show the way in which success is achieved.

Tickets are on sale, priced at £45. The ticket entitles you to entry to all gig venues over the 3 days. Day tickets are available: Thursday Ticket £18.50, Friday or Saturday Ticket £22.50. Tickets will need to be exchanged for a wrist band. Wrist band will gain entry to all venues subject to capacity. The Wrist band exchange venue will be printed on your ticket.

This is an over 18s only competition.

Rules:
  1. Only one entry per person.
  2. The competition is open to all UK residents, except employees of efestivals.co.uk and companies involved in the competition.
  3. Closing date for receipt of entries is 9a.m. Thursday 8th May 2008. The winner's names, and the results, will be announced on this webpage soon after. The winner will also be informed via email.
  4. All requested information must be completed. Your details are kept safe - please see the privacy policy for more information.
  5. Each competition entrant will (if not already) be subscribed to the Festivals Newsletter.
  6. The winning entries are selected at random from all correct entries.
  7. The judges decision is final.
