GuilFest takes place at Stoke Park, Guilford in Surrey from Friday 13th to Sunday 15th July 2007.

This festival has a lovely friendly and laid-back vibe. Unlike some other festivals, you can immediately feel that this festival is being run to give everyone a great time, rather than to get rich quick!

The line-up on the main two stages is classic and modern acts of the type you might hear on Radio 2 (who sponsor the main stage). The acts are always quality, so there's more enjoyment to be got from the bands than you might expect.

Headlining the Friday are Supergrass, there's Squeeze on Saturday, and Madness headlining Sunday, with other acts including The Magic Numbers, The Ordinary Boys, Morcheeba, Toots and the Maytals, Rodrigo Y Gabriela, Jimmy Cliff, The Dub Pistols featuring Terry Hall (The Specials), and many more also confirmed. For the announced line-up to-date, click here for the details. More acts will be announced over the coming weeks.

Expect a great weekend of live music, comedy, children’s entertainment, street theatre, art and crafts, delicious food from around the world and a truly festive atmosphere. There will also be a late licensed 150 foot beer tent and cocktail bar, an extensive KidZone and lots of clean toilets throughout the site and camping areas.

UNISON is Britain's biggest trade union with more than 1.3 million members, and are again sponsoring GuilFest. Their members are people working in the public services, for private contractors providing public services and in the essential utilities. They include frontline staff and managers working full or part time in local authorities, the NHS, the police service, colleges and schools, the electricity, gas and water industries, transport and the voluntary sector. At GuilFest UNISON’s marquee called the UNISONzone will have a programme of events ranging from the “Let’s Talk About Sessions” where UNISON will engage through discussion with festival goers on pertinent issues, to the UNSUNG Heroes Session to live performances from Luke Pickett, Eric Faulkner (Former Bay City Rollers – exclusive to the UNISONzone), Ska – coustica (with Rhoda Dakar, Nick Welsh and Jenny Bellestar) , The Anydays , The Fabulous Fezheads, Woking’s very own Anna Neale, Damian Etherington, Shoot the Moone, Outsider, Nigel Clarke (ex Dodgy) followed by "HAIR OF MYSTERY", Damien Dempsey, The Tom Fun Orchestra, and many others to be announced.

The Kidzone is packed full of games, stilt walking, balloon modelling, face painting and drawing. On the Sunday it’s over to the children for the annual Kids Parade, where the children get to show the rest of the festival what they have made over their weekend.

Tickets are on sale, priced at:-
Adults: £40 day, £90 weekend, £100 weekend with camping.
Children between 12–16 years old £30 day, £50 weekend, £60 weekend with camping. N.B. Children between 12 – 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Children aged under 12 have free entrance with ticket holding adult.
Camper vans tickets are £80 and can only be used in conjunction with an adult with camping ticket.

The music starts at around 5pm on the Friday, and noon on Saturday and Sunday. Music finishes at 11pm on Friday and Saturday, with an earlier 9:30pm finish on Sunday.

The Funky End Bar in Aldershot is once again hosting the DJ stage at GuilFest. This year there's a competition to give budding DJ’s the chance to play at GuilFest, being held at the Funky End over the weekends of the 18th, 19th and the 25th and 26th May. The bar says that all DJ and music styles will be considered “but to keep it funky for the Funky End!” DJs that would like to apply can log on to the Funky Ends website www.thefunkyend.com and follow the links.
