Camping

Free camping is available from Friday night. The camp-site will be have round the clock security, but no campsite can ever be 100% secure, so please exercise common sense, look out for each other and report anyone acting suspiciously to security. Camping on the Festival site will not be permitted without a valid Headstock Festival ticket.

Due to the closure of the Robin Hood line from Saturday 10th September until Monday 12th September, all Headstock Festival are offered free camping. Replacement buses will be running instead of trains, however organisers felt that free camping offered festival goers an alternative solution. There will also be entertainment on the Friday night for those able to join the party early. Trains will run to Newstead as normal on Friday 9th September.

Bus service

For those not able to join in the fun from Friday night, a replacement bus service will run on the Robin Hood line. Trains will run as normal on Friday night with the last train leaving Newstead at 23:05 arriving at Nottingham at 23:25 and normal service will resume from Monday morning. The regular Nottingham to Newstead bus service continues to run as normal during the festival.

On site

This year Headstock will have over 60 acts based over 4 stages and dance arenas plus a dedicated children's area – Kidstock plus arts workshops, local traders, charities and food stalls plus a lounge bar serving real ale and cider – amongst other activities.

In addition Headstock will feature a dedicated Kid's Field offering drum and jewellery workshops, face-painting, story-telling, puppet shows and an eco-sculpture which will be built during the day with help from the children and families attending.

Ethos

Headstock is a new kind of festival – it is being set up by the Newstead community and all profits will go directly back to that community. Newstead is a deprived ex-coal mining village and over 100 local volunteers have so far signed up to help make the festival a unique event.

Getting there

The Newstead and Annesley Country Park is a 220 acre site of exceptional natural beauty, currently being developed as a sustainable eco-sensitive public park, located on what was formerly the villages coal mine. The Park is conveniently located 200 yards from Newstead train station and 15 minutes from Junction 27 of the M1.

More information will be here when available.
