The twelth annual Hebridean Celtic Festival will be held from Wednesday 11th of July to Saturday 14th of July.
The event is expected to attract 17,000 people over 4 days. Confirmed so far for the Main Stage are: The Proclaimers, Moving Hearts, Seth Lakeman, Berrogüetto, Peatbog Faeries, Oojami, Blas (Mary Smith, Christine Primrose, Alyth McCormack, Anna Murray, Kathleen MacInnes & Fiona Mackenzie. The Wednesday Opening Concert will celebrate the work of Lewis bard Murdo MacFarlane with a concert featuring Ishbel MacAskill, Christine Primrose, Fiona Mackenzie, Calum Alex Macmillan, Aiden O'Rourke, Alasdair White, Fraser Fifield and Brian O'hEadhra. Acts playing Thursday to Saturday are Kathleen MacInnes, Lau, Jenna Reid, Genticorum, Nuala Kennedy, and Catriona Watt.
More acts are still to be confirmed.
Many complementary events are also hosted by community groups around Stornaway and the islands of Lewis and Harris catering for a variety of tastes both musical and otherwise. There are also workshops often given by many of the festival's performers, lectures and children's entertainment plus numerous pub sessions in Stornoway and the surrounding area.
Transport
There are good public transport links, flights available to Stornaway and a regular ferry service.
