For news of this event, check the news for the twin event at Hi:Fi South.
Hi:Fi is a new twin-site event brought to you by the company behind Global Gathering, happening over the end-of-May Bank Holiday weekend. The North event is just one day, while the South event is over two days with camping. A licence has been granted for this event.
Hi:Fi will feature a number of arenas for live bands from both the rock and dance worlds coupled together with DJs from across the spectrum of electronic music along with chill-out areas and comedy. Confirmed for Hi:Fi North so far are Ian Brown, Maximo Park, Editors, Dirty Pretty Things, Audio Bullys, Paul Oakenfold, Sasha & John Digweed, Erick Morillo, 2Many DJS and many more - click here for the full details available to date.
Hi:Fi will be a festival of firsts, as the first event with live bands and DJs so closely combined on a line up, and the first time the North East has had its own major festival. It will also feature non-musical entertainment including chill out areas. Bands from the local area will also be able to enter a competition to perform live in front of the huge crowds, which is an amazing one off opportunity.
Tickets are priced at £52.50, or £75 for VIP (which access to a private arena where they can rub shoulders with the event performers and enjoy a private bar and lounge with its own DJs and acts).
There'll be more information here when available.
