Highfield, the East German rock festival takes place south of Leipzig. The three day rock event happens from Friday 17th to Sunday 19th August 2012 on a peninsula in an abandoned mining lake called Störmthal Lake at Großpösna.

Line-up

The latest acts confirmed are The Gaslight Anthem, Kettcar, Agnostic Front, Good Riddance, and Darkest Hour.

They join headliners Placebo, plus The Black Keys, Social Distortion, Within Temptation, Jupiter Jones, Bosse, K.I.Z., Kvelertak, Kilians, Every Time I Die, Letlive, Polar Bear Club, Beatsteaks, Sportfreunde Stiller, Broilers, LaBrassBanda, The Wombats, Casper, Bonaparte, Me First & The Gimme Gimmes, H-Blockx, and Kraftklub.

On site

There's the usual markets, bars, food outlets, and festival portaloos.

Tickets

Early bird tickets are available, priced at 99 euros (plus a 10 euro garbage fee) for the three days, with camping included. To buy tickets, click here.

Facilities

Drinking water is available for free and can be found on the festival grounds. The sanitary camps contain showers and water toilets. There are cash machines at the entrance. The only public phones are at the main entrance.

Camping

Camping sites open on Friday at 10am and close on Monday at 10am. Camping furniture like sofas and armchairs are not permitted. Generators are also not allowed because they cause noise and increase fire danger. Tents must be placed within the marked fire lanes.

Taking minors

The organisers recommend that children under the age of 8 should not attend the festival. Adolescent persons under the age of 18 must bring a written permission which is signed by the parents. The parents are responsible for their children. Teenager under the age of 16 must not smoke or drink. If they do they risk to be sent home.

In order for the Organisation to grant entrance to minors under the age of 16, a National ID Cards or passports of the minor and the accompanying adult must be presented, plus proof of legal guardianship issued in their countries of origin must be presented.

The parent or legal guardian of the minor will be required to sign a document assuming all responsibility, direct or indirect, for the entrance of the minor to Highfield. In the event that a parent or legal guardian refuses to sign this document, the Organisation reserves the right to deny entry of the minor to the concert venue.

The failure of a parent or legal guardian to comply with the obligations relating to the responsible protection and custodianship of a minor will authorise the Organisation to expel said adult and the accompanying minor from the venue.

Getting there

There are good international transport links straight to Liepzig making getting there by public transport or airline easy.
