HowTheLightGetsIn is an annual philosophy and music festival offering over a hundred events, plus live performances. The event, now in its third year, is held at Hay-on-Wye in Powys, Wales from Thursday 26th May to Sunday 5th June 2011.

Line-up

The line-up includes philosophers, writers, comedians, academics, and politicians as well as musicians.

Acts include The Correspondents, Jim Moray, The Mandibles, Hannah Peel, Ben De Vere, Monster Ceilidh Band, The Bees Knees, Bard, Pirouette, Camille O'Sullivan, Kyla la Grange, Gwilym Gold, Mount Kimbie, Ghostpoet, Client (DJ set), Lulu & the Lampshades, Handshake, Peggy Sue, Gaz Mayall, Richard Strange, Kieron Johnson, Lail Arad, Joe May, Ana Silvera, Barty (DJ set), Mad Jack and the Hatters, MC Xander, Dizraeli and the Small Gods, Ewan Hoozami, Ewan Pearson, United Vibrations, The Worm, Julio Bashmore,and Blaenavon Male Voice Choir.

Comedy comes from from Suzy Bennett, Jo Neary, Salena Godden, John-Luke Roberts, Henry Parker, Kieron Maguire, Luke Wrigh, Trevor Lock, Robin Ince, Helen Arney, and Tony Law.

Tickets

Earlybird Festival Live tickets giving access to all live & night sessions including bands, DJs, comedians and parties are now on sale.

An early bird Festival Live 10 day ticket is priced at £78 or £168 with camping. Early bird Festival Live 3 day ticket (first weekend or second weekend) are priced at £28 or £58 with camping. Some individual event tickets are also available.

This year's new theme is 'New Gods: icons and ideas in a changed world', and HowTheLightGetsIn offers a programme ranging from philosophy seminars to arts and theatre workshops and musical performances.

Camping

There is camping and parking available at Tangerine fields which is within a few hundred yards of the festival site. With on-site toilets, showers and added security as well as a Pamper Parlour, the Tangerine Fields site offers you everything you could want for a unique festival experience.
