This year the festival runs over Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th June 2010. Music is one of the main attractions during the festival; it provides an opportunity to witness the fusion of musical media and different cultures providing the soundtrack to an exciting and enjoyable weekend.
Line-up
Music is interspersed with talks on peace and other global issues. This year's line-up has not yet been announced. Joint winners of the local battle of the band's competition Rewards and Revenge, and The Happy Club, will now open the festival's Marquee stage one on each day.Pressgang, Thomas Truax, Loco Mundo, Dr Trippy, Noke, Songlines, the Mama Gospel Choir, the children from Leamington Stagecoach, Barraka and The Dohl Blasters will all be appearing.
Talks and events
Stage Peace talks include the UN Association and the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association. Adults can attend workshops on Slavery, Eco action, Tai Chi and Juggling while this year's children's activities have been expanded into a Kids' Zone with activities as varied as Didgeridoo playing, mask making and den construction. The highlight this year looks like being a sunshade-making session from recycled materials. A special Dance display area will showcase Brazilian Capoeira, breakdancing and the ever popular Belly Dancers.on site
As usual the Peace Festival brings a taste of the alternative to the Pump Room Gardens in the form of craft and clothing stalls from around the globe and punters can sample a wide range of healthly and spicy foods.The festival features two entertainment areas, a children's tent, a workshop tent, and over 120 stalls representing charities, activists, religious and philosophical groups, healers, pressure groups, craftspeople, and fair traders. The Festival runs from 11am - 9pm on Saturday, and 11am - 6pm Sunday.
Due to licensing there is NO CAMPING on the Festival site, please contact Leamington Tourist Information for details of nearby accommodation. Dogs are allowed on leads.
