The London Jazz Festival takes place from Friday 14th to Sunday 23rd November 2008. The event is held at various venues around London including The Roundhouse, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Barbican, and the Purcell Room.
Acts confirmed for the festival include Herbie Hancock, Matthew Herbert's Big Band, Alan Barnes, Andy Sheppard, BBBC Big Band, Bhangra Legends - Alaap & Heera, Bireli Lagrene, Martin Taylor, Buika, Chick Corea & John Mclaughlin Five Peace Band, Courtney Pine, Femi Kuti & The Positive Force, Gilad Atzmon, Keith Tippett, Kurt Elling, Manu Katche Band + Iro Haarla Group, Melody Gardot, Michael Rosen & The Homemade Orchestra, Milton Nascimento & The Jobim Trio, Murcof, Oren Marshall, Peter Brotzmann With Marino Pliakas Portico Quartet & Supanggah, Richard Bona Band, Richard Galliano & Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Rudresh Mahanthappa Quartet, Arun Ghosh Trio, Sibongile Khumalo and Jack Dejohnette, Taksim Trio, The Bays & Heritage Orchestra, Tom Cawley, Jim Hart, and Mike Janisch.
