The Maryport Blues Festival takes place from Friday 27th to Sunday 29th July.

Acts confirmed for the Saturday are Van Morrison, and James Hunter, with C.J. Chenier and his Red Hot Louisiana Band headlining the Sunday. Also confirmed are The Holmes Brothers, Harper, Family Style, Blues n’Trouble, Out of the Blue, Never the Bride, and more - click here for the details to-date. Many more acts are still to be announced.

For the last eight years the main stage marquee has been next to the marina in Maryport. This year, due to construction work on this site, the main stage has been moved to the Netherhall Rugby Club grounds.

A group of young musicians from across Cumbria will also be programming their own stage at the festival. There will be young drumming groups, bands, solo artists and small groups from around the county, all performing material they’ve written themselves. There will be music workshops in percussion, singing and song writing for young people of all ages and abilities.

Mayor of Maryport, Linda Radcliffe, will open the festival on the main stage at 6.40pm on the Friday. Other guests include the Mayor of Allerdale, Ron Munby and MP Tony Cunningham. Local band, South Quay, who secured their place on the main stage by winning a Battle of the Bands competition will kick off the music at 6.45pm, followed by Blues n’ Trouble, Eric Bibb and headliner Gary Moore.

For the first time, a 28 page full colour souvenir programme will be on sale at £3 each. The programme includes new biographies and photographs of all the artists appearing at the festival plus maps, timetables & lots more.

Tickets are on sale, priced at £95 for the weekend, £40 for the Friday, £50 for the Satrurday, and £25 for the Sunday. Click here to buy.

There will be more information here when available.
