Noise of Art (London) '08

Noise of Art describes itself as 'a week of clubs, gigs and images', and mainly features DJs and film screenings. It is affiliated with the British Film Institute and the French Music Bureau.

The third Noise of Art summer event will take place over a week on the Southbank and around central London and will include art installations, club nights, gigs and music and film events.

The festival will start on Friday 11 July at 93 Feet East with a FREE opening party featuring A Human, Overlap, Les Hommes Du Train, Vector Lovers, Ben Osborne, My Toys Like Me, Sonny, The 9000, Adam Barry, DJ Stranger, and visuals by Punkvert. Plus performance artists, interactive art and stalls.

On Saturday 12 July there is another FREE all day event at St Mary's recreation ground, Elephant and castle. From midday until late called Elefest vs Noise of Art. Outdoor free festival with live acts, film screenings and performance artists.

On Sunday 13 July there is the Noise of Art vs Slipped Disco All Dayer at 93 Feet East a FREE event with Danton Eeprom, Ben Osborne, and Sonny.

Monday 14 July, St John's Church, Waterloo roundabout, there will be an event, acts are yet to be announced.

Wednesday 16 July at the BFI Southbank there will be a specially made live set from Berlin's Booka Shade performing music to Helio's rare 1911 film 'Inferno'. Held from 6pm until 1am, the special guests are to be announced. Plus Noise of Art DJs and films from Big Chill Festival. Tickets have SOLD OUT.

Thursday 17 July sees the Noise of Art at Big Chill House, Kings Cross, a FREE event with Justin Roberton's 'Art of Acid' with Acid DJ sets from Justin Robertson and Ben Osborne, The 9000 & friends.
To celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the acid house phenomenon that swept dance music into the UK's national consciousness, Noise of Art have invited dance music pioneer and long term bearer of the acid house flag Justin Robertson (the man behind Manchester's legendary Moist night) to play tracks from his soon to be released Art of Acid LP.

The festival will culminate on Saturday 19 July at The Social, Little Portland Street with a FREE closing party.

Wristbands can be bought for the City Showcase (acts to be announced) in the various London venues, from 2nd to the 6th June, or tickets to Bomb the Bass at London's Astoria which are priced at £15 and can be purchased by clicking here. Noise of Art events will be taking place in - 93 Feet East, The Southbank, BFI Southbank (formerly National Film theatre), St John's Church, The Social. More venues and acts/screenings to be announced.
