Northern Roots Festival (Northern Exposure) is a new festival housed within the buildings at Bogbain Adventure and Heritage Centre held from Friday 3rd to Sunday 5th April 2009.
The festival is intended to help fill the gap left by the old Inverness Folk Festival, although it will be a more organic and home grown affair.
The line-up includes Inverness Folk Festival stalwarts such as Ranald Smith and Iain MacGillivray, but will not confine itself to folk, though the line-up will remain rootsy rather than rocky.
Headlining will be the Groanbox Boys, with supporting acts including Bruce MacGregor, Sandy Brechin, Brian Ó hEadhra, Andy Gunn, Rachel Dawick, Shirley Henderson, Goldrush, Martin Stephenson, Andy Gunn, Fiona Mackenzie, High Lonesome, Bob & Anna Massie, The Cross-eyed Gals, Dean Owens, with negotiations still under way for other artists.
