a pair of tickets to Doves Summer Music Festival

Just answer the simple question below!

eFestivals is offering our readers the chance to win one of three pairs of tickets to Doves Summer Music Festival the one day event taking place at the new 6500 seater Scarborough Open Air Theatre, on Saturday 7th August 2010.

Doves
Apollo Resorts and Leisure are delighted to announce that the Doves gig planned for the Scarborough Open Air Theatre on Sat 7th August has been expanded into an all day summer music event. Doves Summer Music Festival has a fantastic line up of special guests including Newton Faulkner and The Futureheads announced to join Doves at the new 6500 seater Scarborough North Bay venue. With doors now opening at 1.00pm, the gig will take on a music festival atmosphere for revellers to enjoy.

Scottish rock band Kassidy will get proceedings underway, with Tiffany Page next on stage with her brand of radio friendly route 66 rock n roll. Following Tiffany is North East export Detroit Social Club fresh from their prime spot opening performance at Glastonbury this year. The Futureheads also get in on the action, and then special guest Newton Faulkner takes to the stage armed with songs, great big songs from his No.1 Debut record 'Handbuilt By Robots' and his hit follow up 'Rebuilt By Humans'.

Doves, then headline the day with a 90 minute set, they come to North Yorkshire to celebrate their new 'Best of' collection 'The Places Between: The Best Of Doves' which was released in April.

The show will also feature tracks from their epochal debut 'Lost Souls', the Mercury Music Prize nominated 'The Last Broadcast', widescreen masterpiece 'Some Cities', and not least, last year's critically acclaimed gem, 'Kingdom Of Rust'. Emotionally resonant skyscraping choruses brush shoulders with tenderly touching moments of musical beauty and the idylic setting of Scarborough's Open Air Theatre, as the evening creeps into nightfall, is surely going to be one of the must see events of the summer. Bring it on.
