Pinkpop Festival is an annual rock festival held in the city of Landgraaf, 134 miles from Amsterdam, near the city of Heerlen and situated in the most South bound province of Limburg, Netherlands. It is held annually on the Whitsun weekend (Pinksteren in Dutch, hence the name), in 2009 it will be held from Saturday 30th May until Monday 1st June.
Now in its 40th year the festival has a capacity of 60,000 and three days of music on three stages.
Confirmed so far for 2009 are: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band headlining on the Saturday with The Killers also playing that day. Sunday's Depeche Mode mode appearance has been cancelled. Other acts include Placebo, and Monday Franz Ferdinand, The Kooks, and Belgian band Novastar.
There are various festival camp-sites near the arena which have toilets, hot showers, supermarkets, Information points, a camping store, a First Aid stand, cash registers and food and drink available.
