Rheinkultur started as a festival for around 4,000 people in 1983, and has grown into Germany's biggest FREE festival with audiences of up to 200,000 people. The audience comes from all over Germany and adjacent countries to see a multitude of different styles on six different stages.
The festival is held annually on the last weekend of June or the first weekend of July. The event is financed through beverage sales, sponsor support and public funding by the city of Bonn. The festival is committed to conservation and sustainability, and is very popular amongst local, up-and-coming acts, labels and agents.
