UpRise Anti-Racism Music Festival '11

UpRise Anti-Racism Music Festival is a FREE festival born out of the ashes of the former Rise festival, held at various venues and spaces in Dalston, Hackney on Sunday 25th September 2011.

Line-up

The line-up for the day includes Musical contributions to the festival include performances by ESKA, Aruba Red, Cynikal, Baby Sol, Fiona Bevan and Under The Driftwood Tree, with Mecury Music Prize-nominated Ty as host, and more.

On site

Free multi-arts festival with live music, live art, films, debates, a family area, games, outside disco, walks, talks, speakers, comedy and more, not to mention completely solar powered stages. All events are free access.

Spirit

Taking on the spirit and ideals of Rise, the UpRise Anti-racism festival will use the universal language of music and the arts to celebrate the commonalities of London's rich cultures and at the last count, the 250 languages spoken in the capital.

2011 UpRise will be held directly in the community, as a unified show of 'Peace Across The Streets'. Fourteen interesting and unusual spaces will play host to the festival trail which includes a roof top, vegetable garden, WWII bunker and public square, while celebrating the many community initiatives and cultures that make up the city and beyond.

Accommodation

This event does not have camping but there are a number of hotels, hostels and guest houses in the area.
