A week filled with folk music, singing, dancing, pub sessions, concerts, and cream teas, focused in the centre of Sidmouth, Devon and on the sea front. The dates for 2010 are Friday 30th July to Friday 6th August.

Line-up

Evening concerts
Evening concerts in the Ham Marquee will feature Julie Fowlis, Show of Hands, Blue Murder, Martin Simpson, Andy Cutting & friends (featuring June Tabor, Ian Carr and Blowzabella), Barry Coope and John Tams, Heidi Talbot, John McCusker and Boo Hewerdine, with support from Jackie Oates, James Fagan and Nancy Kerr, Spiro, Kerfuffle, Breabach and Koshka. A Ham evening season ticket gets you into all these concerts.

Afternoon concerts
Held in the Ham feature a mixture of up-and-coming young stars and established performers, including Brass Monkey, Eliza Carthy and Saul Rose, Jon Boden and the Remnant Kings, the Jim Moray acoustic trio, Mawkin: Causley, A Celebration of Nic Jones, Roy Bailey’s Peace Concert, Chris Wood, Belshazzar's Feast, O'Hooley and Tidow, and the Fay Hield Trio.

Lunchtime Sessions
Ham Lunchtime Sessions celebrate Sara Grey's 70th birthday with guests including Jeff Warner and Tim Eriksen, the Patron's Concert with Martin Carthy, EFDSS Showcases featuring a wealth of up-and-coming young musicians, and Blowzabella.

Manor Pavilion
Events will include The Ram Company's Waltzers and Wonders, Voice of the People (featuring Coope, Boyes and Simpson, Fi Fraser, Jo Freya and Georgina Boyes), a concert featuring the music of Gypsies and Travellers including Sheila Stewart and the Orchard Family, and Bagpuss!

Sidmouth Traditions
A strong programme of events featuring traditional performers. Among those invited to take part are Vic and Viv Legg, the Orchards, Jim Eldon, the Four Star Trio, Sheila Stewart and Andy and Margaret Watchorn. Plus, look for Mary Humphreys and Anahata’s take on the traditional East Anglian Horkey Night at the Arts Centre.

Special events

Special events include The Music of Bagpuss composed and performed by Sandra Kerr and John Faulkner, A Tribute to Nic Jones with Jim Moray, Jackie Oates, Belinda O’Hooley and Jon Boden, A Peace Concert for Hiroshima Day hosted by Roy Bailey featuring Sandra Kerr, Chumbawamba and David Ferrard, and a silent disco + silent ceilidh with a Yuletide theme.

Ceilidh Bands

Ceilidh bands include Bedlam, The Committee Band, Toothless Mary, Tickled Pink, Blowzabella, and The Spiers and Boden Ceilidh Band.

As well as live music, expect ceilidh dances, social dance bands & callers, workshops, a dance display, processions, craft fair, a themed children's festival, fun and games and more, with the festival spread across several venues throughout the town, over an 8 day period.

Camping charges

There are charges for using the campsite are as follows:
A full week camping for adults or young adult £50, youth £25, and under 12s can camp for free, a family option is available priced at £130, a caravan supplement is priced at £24. Weekend camping from Fri-Sun only is priced at £20.

Workshops

There will also be several workshops, some are planned as a series, with a performance usually planned for the end of the week.
