SOS 4.8 Music Festival '11

SOS 4.8 Music Festival, now in its 4th year, is a 48 hours non-stop event that incorporates music, contemporary art exhibitions, conferences and performances, and takes place across May bank holiday weekend, Friday 6th and Saturday 7th May 2011. SOS 4.8 is a 20,000 capacity urban festival that takes place in city of Murcia, just 40 minutes drive from La Manga,in South East Spain.

Line-up

The first confirmed acts are Patti Smith, The Kooks, Tiga, Suede, White Lies, Everything Everything, These New Puritans, Editors, MGMT, !!!, Two Door Cinema Club, and We have Band.

Tickets

A two day pass is priced at 45 Euros (accommodation not included), with Beach camping (incl. Transfer) from 91 Euros per person or City camping (10 min walk to the site) 95 Euros. To buy tickets, click here.

Other entertainment

As in previous editions, the festival will also offer a space for Contemporary Art Exhibitions, Conferences and Workshops. Under the names 'Art' and 'Voices', this year the sections will look at 'Dance Culture'. Contemporary artists will explore the relationship between music, sex, drugs, night life, money, beauty and youth through their work. In a conference, Jeremy Gilbert and Ewan Pearson, authors of 'Dance, Music, Culture and the Politics of Sound', will analyse the basic elements of Dance Culture, its derivations and current state.

Getting there

This event does not include accommodation or camping. For those booking beach accommodation in La Manga we advise flying to Murcia airport (just 30 min bus ride to La Manga). Those planning to stay in Murcia city could fly to either airport, both about 40 minutes from the city.

Age restrictions

Under 18-s will have to be accompanied by an adult.
