Line-up
There will be 4 stages of Live Music - the festival ethos is to provide a platform for bands and artists playing mainly original music drawn mostly from the local area and region with some guest artists from across the UK.Riverside Stage
The main outdoor stage offering a venue without boundaries and featuring live music covering a diverse range of genres.Marquee Stage
This stage is dedicated to metal, rock, ska, indie, & punk music with Kamikaze Hotshot, In Archives, The Infernal Sea, A Story To Tell, Burn City Burn, Don't Look Down, Smokescreen, Black Hawk Down, The Black Marias, Chasing Dragons, New Generation Superstars, and headliner to be confirmed.Boomerang/Acoustic Stage
This stage provides a platform for acts with acoustic, folk, jazz, world and blues influences.Buskers Stage
A less formal stage but increasingly popular year on year offering a packed programme from singer/songwriters, to improvisations or performances by complete ensembles. Equipped with a stage, PA and engineer. 20 minute slots to play are booked on the day of the event on a first come first served basis.Please note - no drum kits & no backline amps.
The whole event will finish off with a firework finale.
Tickets
An adult advance ticket is priced at £5, or £7 on the gate; A children, accompanied by an adult ticket is priced £3 in advance, or £5 on the gate; and children aged under 5 can attend for free. To buy tickets, click here.Children's entertainment
The Riverside Festival has always been a family event, with a host of entertainment, including Taylors Amusements. A dedicated Children's Marquee this year will again host a variety of entertainment and workshops, details to be confirmed shortly. Near to the children's marquee a Storyteller will be present all day.Food
There will also be a wide range of caterers on site offering food from around the world as well as a chance to take part in a little retail therapy.Ale & Cider
Expect the return of the Real Ale, Beer & Cider Festival offering 40 real ales, and 20 real ciders mainly from local breweries including Newby Wyke, Oakham Ales, Wolf Headless, Digfield, Greenjack, Crouch Vale, Red Lion, Sadlers, Sarah Hughes, Thornbridge, Tower and others.The Riverside Bar This bar offers more commercial products such as lager and bitter from the keg, wine, Pimms, and soft drinks.
Express Can Bar For those of you who are in a hurry to see the next band or who need to quickly quench your thirst, the Express Can bar is available to serve you with cans of lager, bitter, cider & Guinness.
Alcohol
No alcohol is allowed to be taken on site. Any bottles or cans will be confiscated at the gate, as will unsealed plastic bottles. The festival will be operating the Challenge 21 scheme so ID will be required.Not for profit
The Festival operates on a not-for-profit basis.Organiers are currently accepting applications from bands and artists, stallholders and caters - details on their websitewww.riversidefestival.co.uk. Applications close at the end of February 2012.
