The Stonehaven Folk Festival, celebrates its 20th year in 2008, taking place from 5th - 8th July, and featuring evening concerts at the Town Hall plus fringe events at various venues around the town.
Artists announced include Barbara Dickson, Eddi Reader, Battlefield Band, Michael Marra, Mike Silver, Rachel Unthank & the Winterset, Idiot & Friend, Ian Bruce, Rallion, Cabrach, Maggie Adamson & Brian Nicholson, Johnny Dickinson, Paul Lamb, Dennis Alexander, and more. Tradition Bearers announced so far are Danny Couper, Stanley Robertson, Doris Rougvie, and Chris Miles. There's also a chance for you to enter the World Paper 'n' Comb Championship. TICKETS & CAMPING
Tickets will be on sale from Saturday 5 April. Weekend tickets (3 - £50 or 4 - £64 day pass) as well as individual concert tickets will be available priced from £3 to £20 depending on the event. The Thursday concert with Eddi Reader, the Saturday concert with Battlefield, the Sunday concert with Barbara Dickson, and all 3-day and 4-day Weekend Tickets are sold out. For ticket information click here. Although it's worth noting that not all concerts are covered by the pass. Concessions available and kids under 14 years admitted half price. There is a basic festival campsite located at Mineralwell Park, Stonehaven.
LOCATION
Stonehaven is an attractive coastal town in the North East of Scotland, about 15 miles south of Aberdeen. Easily accessible from north and south by road and rail, Stonehaven is on the main rail route to Aberdeen. It is reached from the south by the A90 and the A94 and from the north by the A90.
