The Stonehaven Folk Festival, takes place over four days from Thursday 9th until Sunday 12th July, and features evening concerts at the Town Hall plus fringe events at various venues around the town.
The acts announced include Peatbog Faeries, Ralph McTell, Karine Polwart Trio, Martin Simpson, Cara Dillon, John McCusker, Boo Hewerdine & Heidi Talbot, Sands Family, Idiot & Friend, Shona Kipling & Damien O'Kane, Skalder, and Burns Quoir, plus a late Night Blues Concert with Sandy Tweeddale, and Mama's Brand New Bag.
Tradition Bearers include Karine Polwart, Aileen Carr, Tom Spiers + Norman Kennedy.
Comperes include Martin Kasprowicz, Ron Gardner, and Geordie Murison.
TICKETS & CAMPING
Tickets on sale from Tuesday 5th May 2009. Weekend tickets as well as individual concert tickets will be available. Although it's worth noting that not all concerts are covered by the weekend passes. Concessions are available and kids under 14 years are admitted half price. There is a basic festival campsite located at Mineralwell Park, Stonehaven.
LOCATION
Stonehaven is an attractive coastal town in the North East of Scotland, about 15 miles south of Aberdeen. Easily accessible from north and south by road and rail, Stonehaven is on the main rail route to Aberdeen. It is reached from the south by the A90 and the A94 and from the north by the A90.
