Cornwall Folk Festival '12

The 40th Cornwall Folk Festival takes place from Friday 3rd to Sunday 5th August with lots of live artists, plus workshops and dance sets.

The festival takes place at various venues in Wadebridge and offers street entertainment and friendly atmosphere, real ales in the local bars and a variety of folk styles as well as an array of local bands and Cornish music.

Nic Jones with his son, Joseph Jones and Belinda O' Hooley, Ruth Notman and Saul, Robb Johnson ( UK singer/songwriter), Linde Nijland and Bert Ridderbos ( Holland ), Amadou Diagne ( Senegal ) - Winner of the World Music Network "Battle of the Bands"!, Wendy Arrowsmith ( Scotland ), Lucy Ward ( BBC Folk Awards 2012 Winner -Best Newcomer ), BBC Folk Awards 2012 Winners - Tim Edey ( Best Musician ) and Brendan Power ( Best Duo ), Gumbo Flyers ( the UK's and Cornwall's premier Zydeco and Cajun Band ), Flats and Sharps ( Cornwall), Richard Barrett and Paul King with Rebecca Phillips ( Cornwall ) Tinderbox (UK/Ireland ), and more yet to be announced.

Plus a full weekend of street entertainment, workshops, childrens events, concerts, folk clubs, ceilidhs, cajun dances and free sessions are on offer at various venues around Wadebridge.

Tickets

Early Bird weekend season tickets are priced at £60 available now and until 30th June (£66 after). Children of 16 or under qualify for the child discount. Entry is free to all events for children of five and under (except children's festival events, charged at £2.50 each per session, or included in the child's season ticket).

All workshops are priced at £2.50 each. There are no advance tickets for the workshops, so just turn up and pay on the door! The Workshops are free to season ticket holders.

Camping

The festival does not offer camping however the following campsites are close to Wadebridge, Little Bodieve holiday Park, The Laurels Touring Park & Cottages, and Trenwice Farm Holiday Park. Weekend camping at Little Bodieve (4 nights, Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon) is priced around £32 for adults, and £20 for children. One night's camping at Little Bodieve is priced around £8 for adults and £5 for children. There are also accommodation options in and around Wadebridge, however with it being a bank holiday these should be booked early.

Any profit from the festival will go towards a festival for future years.
