The festival's focus is on popular classical, but a wide ranging programme is offered which in the past has included heavy rock and folk music, songs from the musicals, through to weighty classical organ pieces.
Line-up
With around 50 concerts all together, taking place throughout the day and evening all week.The line-up is as follows:
The opening Saturday brings hundreds of musicians at numerous locations throughout the town centre with 'Market Place Music', culminating in a 'Grand Gala Concert' with a dance band and a licensed bar serving real ale.
Sunday offers a chance to join in with a Scratch Choir.
Monday's events include a School Choir, and Havant Clarinet & Saxophone Choir.
On Tuesday there is Mumbaba, followed by a School concert, and in the evening the Solent Male Voice Choir plus support.
On the Wednesday it's the turn of Stella Starr with an Organ Recital, two School Concerts, and in the evening the Rowans hospice concert with Denmead Brass.
Thursday has two School Concerts, and in the the evening the Portsmouth Philharmonia.
On Friday there will be entertainment at lunchtime, Palm Court will offer their annual afternoon cream tea this time with Paul Taylor, and in the evening there's concert version of Iolanthe by Opera Comique.
The final Saturday features 'Bands on the Lawn' at lunchtime and a 'Last Night of the Proms', all the atmosphere of the real thing with former Royal Marines Bandmaster Don Lloyd and the Meridian Wind Band.
With Trinity Sunday celebrated with a Eucharist celebrating the gift of music.
Tickets
Daytime concerts are free. Evening concerts require tickets, and these are priced £5 or £7. A passport ticket for all concerts except Saturday 16th evening is priced at £25. To buy tickets, click here.More information will be here when available.
