WOMAD returns to the Botanic Park, Adelaide, in South Australia for the ninteenth year from Friday 5th to Monday 8th March 2010 as part of the Womad series of music festivals. Womad events are a showcase of all different sorts of music, arts and dance for 20,000 people per day.

Line-up

WOMADelaide features a line-up of international artists including Amal Murkus, Babylon Circus, Besh o droM, Calexico, Dean & Britta, Djan Djan, Dub Colossus, Eliades Ochoa , George Kamikawa and Noriko Tadano, Gochag Askarov, Grrilla Step, Kamel el Harrachi, Kathakali Dance Ensemble, Lepistö and Lehti, Mairtin O'Connor Trio, Mama Kin, Mariem Hassan, Nortec Collective Presents: Bostich & Fussible, Ojos de Brujo, Public Opinion Afro Orchestra, Ravi Shankar and Anoushka Shankar, Ross Daly and Ensemble, The Skatalites, and Xavier Rudd & Izintaba. Tickets

A four day festival pass is priced at AUS$265 (approximately £150). There are also three day passes and day tickets available. Children under 12 can attend for free. To buy tickets click here.

On site

The festival also has ATM machines, and a global village of merchandise stalls and workshops for adults and children.

Opening hours

Friday - gates open 4:30pm, performances are on from 6pm-1am.
Saturday - gates open at 11am, performances are on from midday-1am.
Sunday - gates open at 11am, performances are on from midday-midnight.
Monday – gates open at 11am, performances are on from midday-midnight.

Accommodation

This is a non-camping event, Adelaide offers a range of accommodation options, and is on international flight routes.
