math125
I don't know if you've heard of the term 'Not Safe For Work' but yeah it's general forum courtesy not to post NSFW images in threads without NSFW in the title. It didn't offend me it's just you have to remember some people may be viewing these forums in places where images like that may be highly inappropriate. frostypaw
I agree with what you said but I was thinking a) don't kip naked in the toilet and don't get into such a state that you end up kipping in the toilet
Yesiamaduck
Didn't consider that. I've taken your on point on board and edited the post

Yesiamaduck
Problem here is I didn't know what NSFW meant and clicked on it. Gross. I thought it might be a new variant on NFR NFC and had a look to see OP I second everything that's been said so far, don't pressure yourself to be here/ do that all the time. Go with the flow, pick a few bands, go off on your own if others don't want to do what you feel like doing and don't get stuck in one area the whole time. I overheard a girl on the way home saying she couldn't wait to get home to eat as she was sick of burgers etc and was craving a salad. Seems to me they couldn't have moved from the main stages all weekend if they couldn't find a salad. storm
How does one not find a salad at Glastonbury? Pretty sure the is more salad than burgers!
BarryCrocker
Stand in front of any stage and video the band/act and not actually participate in enjoying the said band/act unless you work for the BBC.

stuartbert two hats
Well it depends on what you like, if you are one of those who prefer Skrillex over Arcade Fire, then why would you waste your time on a band you don't like and most probably won't enjoy? That's another thing, don't listen to people who tell you the act you like is shit and you should see someone else, you will most probably have a better time seeing the act that YOU like
esp
Don't overplan - research beforehand, know what youre desperate to see then have a vague direction for the day. Rushing from stage to stage you'll miss a lot and get stressed which isn't Glastonbury for me! Oh and dont hang around waiting for friends - give them 10 mins and then go on your way - they've probably found something better to do in the meantime anyway! ( tell them at the outset though)

davefrompompey
I agree with everyone saying don't plan too much. Also don't be under the illusion that you need to hang around a stage to get a good position for a band you like. This caused me to stand in the pissing rain watching the automatic in my first Glastonbury. In almost all cases you can get a reasonably good place if you turn up ten minutes before the set. The Placid Casual
This. Do NOT stay and watch a band you don't like in order to stick with your mates. Wandering off on your own is wonderfully liberating.
stuartbert two hats
Aye, I'm most probably seeing Massive Attack on my own, and I know I won't regret it. I went alone last year, and as you say, it's very liberating. I got to see so much over the weekend

frostypaw
In fact, if it's a band I'm really into I don't want the distraction of other people around!
stuartbert two hats
unless it's others who know as many of the words as you naturally Don't do what's cool Ever. Do what you want and feel, and don't be surprised when you find you're not alone and you have a much better time with your new friends
stuartbert two hats
Oh, and this Metro article is surprisingly correct for a list article on the web. http://metro.co.uk/2013/06/21/top-10-things-not-to-do-at-glastonbury-festival-3851003/ Do drink as much cider as you like though! The Placid Casual
Bring a gazebo by all means, just don't put the bloody thing up in busy areas and not expect someone to pitch their tent under it. If you really want to bring a gazebo for whatever reason, put it up in an area where there's plenty of room. The same goes for pitching tents in a circle and leaving a big space in the middle. If you're in a busy area, somebody WILL pitch their tent there, as they have every right to
