After studying clash finder I am planning/hoping to see 15 acts of those I will be seeing 9 of them for the first time. Which is probably a record for me.

(Blonde, rodrigo y gabriela, de la soul, wild beasts, the daptone super soul review, ballet, thunderbirds are go, dolly and the black keys)

How many new bands are you planning on seeing over the weekend?

My would-be-gutted-to-miss list is Haim, Lily Allen, Paolo Nutini, Kaiser Chiefs, Nick Mulvey, Kelis, Lana Del Ray, Goldfrapp, The 1975, Dolly, Ed Sheeran, Yoko Ono and James Blake which is 13 and I've only seen one of them before, and add to that pretty much anyone else on the bill who I end up seeing, I'm not much of a gig-goer..

I'd hazard a guess that around 80% or more of the acts I end up seeing over the course of the festival will be ones that I've never seen live. Especially high up on the list priority-wise are The War On Drugs, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Jack White, Public Service Broadcasting and Dolly Parton.

if i stick to my current plan (which i won't) i'll be seeing for the first time:

The War On Drugs

Courtney Barnett

Parquet Courts (although might see them in Liverpool a couple of days earlier)

Chvrches

Paolo Nutini / Lykke Li

Young Fathers

Royal Blood

Lana Del Rey

Manic Street Preachers

Pixies

Dolly Parton

St. Vincent

Bonobo

not a bad haul. i'd say i'll probably end up seeing half of those, but it'd be a real shame to miss any of them so think i'm gonna make a lot more effort to see all the acts i want to this year

I pretty much only see people for the first time and only repeat festival faves like Biggles, John Hegley, Dreadzone or whatever, if they are new and I have seen them before then am not really interested in making a special effort.

My first time list this year is

Robert Plant

Dolly

War on Drugs

Warpaint

Wolf Alice

Radiophonic Workshop

Jack White

Tuneyards

Lykke li

Have just looked at my clashfinder and see that I am talking total gubbins as usual as have R&G and the Selector down, both of which I have seen before but they are special cases as they are both so bloody good.

That's part of glastonbury for me. The clashfinder and spotify combine so I can wade through a few tracks of bands to see their potential. Of course there are plenty of big bands I haven't seen and are looks forward to (dolly,Robert plant,blondie). But I'm already happy with some of my discoveries;

So far these are my favourites so on potential watch list

Friday

Band of skulls. Other stage 3.30. I've seen these before (iow I believe), bluesy indie rock al la jack white. English band.

Holly Williams. Following Danny & champions of world. Acoustic 3pm. Country with attitude. She's hank Williams granddaughter (and good looking too)

Tony joe White. Acoustic 4pm. Country tinged US blues/rock. Think seasick Steve type groves.

Vintage trouble. West holts 5.30pm. Puts me in mind of the blues brothers crossed with Otis reading crossed with Gary Clarke jr. This may be a definite for me on what I've heard so far

Saturday

Rusty shackles . 11.30 Avalon. These supported chas n Dave at the globe, and are not a bad band. Lots going on in a Mumford and son style.

Midlake. Other stage 2pm. Texas based melodic rock with a 60s influence. Remind me of beach boys harmonies coupled with the byrds riffs

Kodaline. Other stage.4.40pm. Irish guitar and harmony rock, with radio ready hook lines. I liked them.

Sunday

Lonely the brave. 1.20pm. John peel tent. Don't remember doing JP last year, so these are my favourites so far for a diversion.. Listenable rock, indie come U2/big country

I've only seen a handful of bands on the lineup and the only ones I'm planning on seeing again are Vintage Trouble and The Subways so everyone else that I see is going to be a first time watch.

Particularly looking forward to seeing J5, Courtney Barnett, Rodrigo Y Gabriela, Jack White, Metallica and Royal Blood,
