TaBoosh
What an amazing amazing show! Highlight of the festival for me. Other's thoughts? Did he end up playing any secret sets in the end?
balti-pie
I was kind of curious, and ended up being dragged along by the missus who (inexplicably, cos she's a 43yr old bird, not really his target audience!) really loves him. I know one song - bangarang, funnily enough - but thought it could be a bit of a spectacle. It. Was. Ace. Great visuals, sound was amazing, the buildups/drops were good, if a little too many in number - I was absolutely knackered by the end of it. A broken man. That crouch down thing: nah. Couldn't. Wouldn't have got back up! But I walked away a convert - I thought he smashed it
CraigyLee
Wouldn't have minded seeing him... wish he was saturdays headliner
jonodillieono
I was under the impression he did the secret set on arcadia on friday and he also played the rabbit hole at some point
esp
Loved it! After a last minute arcade fire ditch. I keep hearing that AF was amazing but I danced non-stop through skrillex (drugs not needed), loved the space craft thingy and all the visuals, and dont regret one minute of bring there. Agree with Balti-pie though, couldn't do the crouch, so I bent over instead. Must have looked like a right muppet.
FloorFiller
saw the big spaceship / whatever it was getting set up earlier that day / the day before (i don't remember) and it did look mighty impressive. would've liked to have gone to see him purely for curiosities sake (i don't HATE his music either) but ah well! gooner1990
We had about 15 of us umming and arring over Skrillex or M.I.A about 10 people went for Skrillex and about 6 of us opted for M.I.A, myself included. Considering we were all buzzing on MDMA, watching M.I.A wasn't the best choice, caught the last 20 mins of Skrillex.......wish I had seen the whole show though. Supermerv
Caught about 15 mins of his set and was mightily impressed, if I was to offer him one piece of advice though its that apart from a thank you at the end he should probably stay off the mic, hes got the voice of a 12 year old! TaBoosh
Haha he does have a high voice but whatever, didn't bother me at all. I know if you're in to your dub-step it's not cool to like him, but again - whatever - he was damn impressive (tunes/show/visuals) 10/10 for me. TaBoosh
He's not a singer, so can't see how his voice matters? You people!
smogo
Best show I saw all weekend. (As for that Arcadia secret set, I wouldn't be surprised if it was supposed to be him b2b with Jack Beats, but the schedule changed and Jack Beats played earlier in the evening, with Arcadia's resident DJs taking that late slot. Arcadia said last week that their special guest had dropped out.)

balti-pie
Opinions, opinions. If you don't like him, then why are you in here slagging him off? Go and do something more positive: maybe you loved Kasabian. Or Sasha at the glade. Good for you, find those threads and contribute! Unless you went to see Skrillex and didn't enjoy it, I'm struggling to see the point of going in to a thread just to state that you don't like the artist. Mardy
I went along cos we were at a loose end and I was curious For me, an absolute sea-change moment in Glastonbury. The show was phenomenal, the liughts, the smoke, the lazers, the whole spectacle. Absolutely mindblowing. The music? to me appallingly unlistenable, but there was a big crowd of the kids and they loved. Thank fuck for that. Glastonbury should be doing exactly this, putting on music that the 40 year olds don't want (with the exception of balti's aforementioned missus ). This is the equivalent of putting on bands in the early 90s that the old guard didn't get. Precisely what keeps Glastonbury vital and relevant. Restored my faith in the power of the festival. So glad I saw it. I won't forget that in a hurry.
chimpy
Bradley Cooper who was dancing like a loon behind us seemed to enjoy it
Troop Dogg
We opted for Skrillex over Arcade Fire, pretty much by the flip of a coin, and he was absolutely incredible. I don't listen to that kind of music at all, but had heard he does a great live show, and it totally blew my mind. Its good to see that music as alternative as that is still popular, and that not everyone listens to all the MOR shite that was clogging up the Pyramid this year. CaledonianGonzo
Wish this guy had played the Sunday. Disclosure were our 'wouldn't normally do this kind of thing try something new why not' headliner and they were pretty feeble. Ended up sacking off to see the Peatbog Faeries, who taught them a thing or two about how to start a raucous party.

Harry3
All this "the musics fucking terrible but omg the lights" is whats spawned this horrible breed of mindless cake-throwing (see Steve Aoki) electro house bullshit for brainless "molly" snorting w*nkers in the US. Can we stop encouraging it Edited July 2, 2014 by Harry3
