What do you regret about Glastonbury 2014?

My regret is one I'm not sure I'll ever be able to do much about - I've got no staying power! Always have the intention of going so see Shangri La or Arcadia in the early hours but found myself after the headliners completely shattered. Any advice for next year on staying up? And no, I don't want to take any damn drugs to achieve it...

Having a late night Thursday , then drinking and joints all through Friday from about 10.00 when i started on the vodka .

It meant that whilst i saw everythng i wanted to see , i had to listen to Arcade Fire from my tent in Big Ground , to be woken up at 4.00 am by mates banging on about

the fab time they had had at Arcade Fire , Skrillex and Shangri La and wanting to know why i was fast asleep in my tent.

They then promptly both fell asleep in my tiny tent !

It was not all bad though

i gave it an hour then got up for a wander , wandered down to Pyramid Stage to watch em load the Metallica sound boards onto the mixing desk , wandered all round the site stopping off for the odd tea and coffe then went to Shangri La for about 7.00 for a dance and watch the all nighters still at it and snorting to keep em going..

I really didn't get away from the camping area too much this year. That made for a lot of around the tent very funny banter, but meant I missed the aimlessly walking around bit. I had also wanted to go to the Thursday NFR NFC meet as well as popping in to see Sawdusty Surfer off this site but never managed it.

Apart from that though it was ace. My wife doesn't get to see her brother too much nowadays because he lives in another part of the country, but was able to enjoy a few days with him so that made it special. On top of that living with some of your mates in a group for a few days at a festival is always going to be a highlight in one's every day life. We regularly have people stay over at our house, too out of it to go home. That's fun. However it's not like being in that natural amphitheatre of madness in Somerset that we all know and love. It really is our Brigadoon.

Nicht gut mit einem Kater. Kater being the proper German word for hangover, not sure why but it is, actually means something like tom-cat.

Anyways, I have the same regrets every year when I sift through the efest picture galleries: missed that one, should have made it to this gig, why didn't I get up to the crow's nest, or spend more time in the Greenfields, and so on, I just really wish I didn't have to waste time on sleep.

I was sitting in front of a tiny stage in the tipi field one night, think it was Sat about 3am, and a guy with long grey hair played psychedelic guitar (with just a drummer behind him), I wish I'd asked who that was. Does anyone know?

I have only one proper regret - I wish I'd been more alert Friday night, when a friend had a bag full off quite important stuff stolen. Shouldn't have happened.

I felt the same when William had his bag snatched at womad while we were all sitting there - shouldn't have happened. But that's how bag-snatchers work isn't it - they watch and wait for that moment when backs are turned and then strike - gone in a second. I just wish I'd caught the bastard! The main loss was precious glastonbury time and that perennial feeling of not having seen enough made larger than usual - although that wasn't entirley down to to the bag theft - lots of things didn't pan out how I planned this year and resulted in wasted time and energy. One of those years...

Probably regret not doing as many bands as first planned, and doing some mid set shifts to catch half sets of one band whilst missing half set of other band.

I didn't push the late nights.. Thursday was good in Williams green late night fun, but didn't do se corner apart from when kasabian was still on and the place was deserted. One newbie with us did an all nighter.. I'm getting a bit long in tooth for all thst, but as always I always come back thinking a) it went too fast , particularly Friday - Sunday B) there was always things I wish I did if I could rerun the festival again this week.

Perhaps thats the answer .... Extend it ... Two weekends!

Main regret for me was wrong choice of group. I went with 2 other girls, one of whom wanted to be babysat for the entire weekend but threw her toys out of the pram when I didn't want to see her choice of acts. Missed quite a few things I had planned to see as a result, Tune Yards and not catching all of Bonobo's set still hurts. Getting a bollocking for telling her not to take her kindle before we went was interesting. She listened to me and when she wanted to go back for an early night on the Thursday we had to traipse round the stalls to try and find her a book...

Come to this thread pretty late because I was on holiday but here goes:

Missing St Vincent. What the hell was I thinking?

Not leaving for The War on Drugs earlier and getting caught in the Blondie crush instead.

Not spending enough time in the South East corner. Felt like I'd been there loads until the days after the festival.
