Bands/Artists who you think will return

You probably made the right choice I reckon. I love his records, but live he seems to think he's Skrillex. I got bored and wandered off halfway through.

Huh, makes me feel a bit better. Wasn't really feeling Bonobo to be honest, seemed like the wrong venue/time of day/state of mind for him. And I missed St Vincent so I wouldn't have to trudge all the way over to The Park.

Basically, I chose poorly that night.

I don't know any of his songs but thoroughly enjoyed the set despite having to leave early. Would have been better in the dark though. Can't remember a thing from Bestival though except walking up a hill.

aye i couldn't get in to Bonobo at all. missed the start due to coming from St. Vincent but it just didn't click with me at all, and the field he was playing to seemed pretty uninterested (although i also found Disclosure afterwards to be the same - don't think the West Holts works unless you're up front or the field is rammed)

Aye I also missed St Vincent cause I couldn't be bothered walking over to The Park. Didn't actually see an act there all weekend. Stayed and watched The Black Keys alone from the back of the field instead and then went back to my tent until Massive Attack. Mistake.

Not bothering to walk to the Park then regretting it seems to be a running theme.

The Barry Gray Supermarionation tribute at the Park on the Sunday morning was wonderful.

It's just so far to go for one act. I went a couple of times at night and enjoyed the area. Want to spend more time in the day there next year if I get a ticket.

Indeed, I'm another of those in that "Would have gone to the park alot if it was closer". The weather didn't really help with being arsed to go over there either. Maybe a more direct route back would help it :P

i fortunately made many a treacherous journey to the Park this year. even during the great storm, only to get there and see that all acts had been postponed (went for Parquet Courts). then trawled back to the John Peel to see Wild Beasts, who had also been postponed, and so trawled back AGAIN and Parquet Courts came on. dedication to the cause. i was fucking drenched

  • 1 month later...

I contacted Vintage Trouble on Facebook to see if I could get a hint whether they'd be back this year, after the washout last year. Here's their reply:

We'd so love to come back and does it not seem that it was written in the stars for a big VT return? In truth, though, we have no idea as of yet. Hope it happens Matthew. Thanks for the memory.

Certainly nothing definite, but not a 'no' either!

Unless it's someone really special or a headliner a walk to the park would have to be for more than one artist i want to see. Say someone on the Park stage plus one of the smaller venues or Arcadia on the way there or back (which was an option last year).

I too wished i'd gone for st vincent (and bonobo didn't click for me either though i like them on record). The experience of rodriguez the other year puts me off trudging across the site for one artist too often... just in case they aren't great.
