A decent rock band is hard to find these days, thankfully at least we have HIM to keep the good old fashioned school of rock alive. To say that these are excellent at performing live would be an understatement - these guys rock with a vengence.

From the pounding beats of the opening track 'Soul On Fire' to the dying notes of their last song 'Buried Alive By Love' this was rock music being played how it should be - fast, loud and with a mountain load of passion.


It wasn't just me who seemed to like it - one look round the audience and it was easy to see that the sold out venue was sardined to the rafters with people rocking away to the dark 'evil' music that HIM play so well.

Towards the end of the night, the band were pouring in sweat, they had certainly earned their money for tonight. Their set list consisted of a mixture of old and new material, even 'Poison Girl' from the album Razorblade Romance was played, which was a pleasant surprise considering bands now days quite often aren't brave enough to play tracks from their back catalogue.



The only problem with enjoying a show so much is that it has to end somewhere, and HIM certainly know how to leave the crowd wanting more.

An absolutely faultless performance, definitely worth checking out next time they tour - in fact I think I have just seen the number one candidate to headline the smaller stage at this year's Download festival.
