Following our report of two weeks ago, Metallica themselves have now said they'll be playing at the Download Festival at Donington Park, Leicestershire over the weekend of 5th/6th June 2004.
At Friday night's show at Earls Court in London, drummer Lars Ulrich mentioned that Metallica will return to the UK in June for two shows, in Glasgow on 2nd June, and Download on Sunday 6th June. Both Korn and Slipknot are likely support acts for Metallica's tour, and so it's quite possible that both bands will also appear at Download too.
It's unlikely that any bands will be confirmed before the new year. We'll of course bring you all the information when available.
