Download camping sold out

plus the chance for a band to play at Download

Tuesday 16th May 2006

Download Festival - which takes place from Friday 9th until Sunday 11th June 2006, at Donington Park, Leicestershire - has confirmed that weekend tickets with camping have now sold out.

There's still weekend tickets without camping available, as well as day tickets for each day - but the word is that all of these are now extremely limited. If you want tickets, get them very soon!

Tickets are on sale, priced at £115 for the three days, or £135 including camping and parking. Parking is £5 in advance or £10 on the day. Day tickets are also available, priced at £55 for any day. Click here to buy tickets online now.

This year, Download is giving one lucky MySpace.com band or artist the chance to play at Download 2006. All entrants have to do is send their MySpace.com band profile to downloadfestival@myspace.com and five finalists will be selected and put up for the public vote. The opportunity for submission began on Wednesday 10 May and runs until midnight on May 22. Public voting buttons will be placed on www.myspace.com/downloadfestival allowing people to select the band they want to see play at this year’s Download.

Final voting begins on May 23 and closes on May 31, deciding the band that will open the Gibson Guitar/MySpace.com stage on Friday 9 June. Full competition entry details can be found at myspace.com/downloadfestival.

Acts across the weekend include Metallica, Guns N' Roses, The Prodigy, Korn, Deftones, Trivium, Bullet For My Valentine, Lacuna Coil, InMe, Within Temptation and Hatebreed - click here for all the details.
