The Killers look likely to be one of the headliners of this year's V Festival.
At the point a few weeks back that the Glastonbury organisers ruled The Killers out of playing there, it looked extremely likely that this was because they'd signed an exclusive deal to headline another festival - the bigger festivals don't much like to share their headliners if it can be avoided. eFestivals listed them as a strong rumour for V Festival at that point.
Anyway, today's Sun states categorically that The Killers have signed to headline V Festival, as well as playing at the Diana Memorial Concert. The Sun has a (bad) reputation for getting such categorical statements right, just as they did(n't) about Coldplay headlining V a few years back, and just as they did(n't) with some major football transfer news only yesterday. Then again, it doesn't take a genius to think they might well be right with this snippet.
V Festival 2007 will take place at both Hylands Park, Chelmsford and Weston Park, Staffordshire on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th August. The official announcement of the festival is expected sometime in the next couple of months, with tickets going on sale at around that time.
