Run by Michael Eavis (of Glastonbury Festival) for over ten years, Glastonbury Abbey Extravaganza takes place in the grounds of Glastonbury Abbey, from Friday 10th to Sunday 12th August.
This unique event has grown in stature over the years and is already a high spot in the musical calendar of the South West. It's a real occasion, with fireworks, lights, candelabra and picnics.
Friday night has Van Morrison, and Corinne Bailey Rae. Saturday night's concert features world famous Charles Hazlewood conducting the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra as they perform an anniversary Tchaikovsky programme which will culminate in a spectacular firework display and will feature the Aquatique Water Fountains from Strasbourg. Sunday has Ray Davies and Paolo Nutini.
