want to play at Leeds Festival?the unsigned stage makes another appearance...Tuesday 3rd July 2007The Topman Unsigned Stage will be returning to Leeds Festival this year, to showcase talent from the Midlands, North England and Scotland. Festival organisers Mean Fiddler have just announced details of how bands can apply to win a place performing on the stage at Bramham Park this summer. Like last year, any unsigned act can get the chance to play by handing in their demo to any of the Topman stores listed below. The deadline for all entries has been given as July 13th, and selection will be announced on July 24th. So if you're in an unsigned band and fancy getting your name on the Leeds bill then pop down to one of the following Topman stores with a Demo CD... Dundee (Murraygate) Glasgow (Argyle Street & Buchanan St) Newcastle (Eldon Square) Middlesbrough (Linthorpe Rd) Leeds (Briggate & St Johns Centre) Sheffield (Fargate & Meadowhall) York (Coppergate) Liverpool (Church Street) Preston (Fishergate) Manchester (Arndale) Nottingham (Victoria Centre) Birmingham (Bullring) According to this site here, Sandman Magazine have selected another 10 acts to play on this Unsigned Stage. These acts are as follows; Grammatics, The Scaramanga Six, Whiskycats, Piskie Sits, Thirty Pounds of Bone, Working for a Nuclear Free City, This Floating World, Neil McSweeney, Screaming Mimi, and Bone-Box. The Carling Weekend: Reading & Leeds Festivals are held from Friday 24th to Sunday 26th August at Little Johns Farm, Richfield Avenue, Reading, Berkshire, and Bramham Park, Leeds, West Yorks. The headliners are Smashing Pumpkins, Razorlight, and Red Hot Chili Peppers. Most of the acts now confirmed, see here for the details.
