Virgin Mobile Union line-up announced for V Festival with Young Knives, Guillemots and more

plus line-ups for Strongbow Bowtime Bar and Bacardi-B Live arena

V Festival, which takes place at Hylands Park, Chelmsford, Essex and Weston Park, Staffordshire, on Saturday 16th & Sunday 17th August 2008t have announced the line-up for this year's Virgin Mobile Union stage.

The artists confirmed are Richard Hawley, Guillemots, Sia, Echo And The Bunnymen, Young Knives, Siouxsie, Will Young, Little Man Tate, The Long Blondes, Tom Baxter, Roots Manuva, Drive - By Truckers, The Dykeenies, Goldie Lookin Chain, Paul Heaton, Jack Mcmanus, Tokyo Police Club, Beth Rowley, Noah And The Whale, The Like, Runaway Sons, and Sam Beeton.

Festival Director, Bob Angus stated, "Once again the line-up has raised the bar. The calibre of this year's talent on the Virgin Mobile Union stage is as strong as always. With faces old and new, V Festival continues to show its support for new. It was only a couple of years ago that the Young Knives won the 'Road to V' competition and now they return high up on the Virgin Mobile Union stage bill. We’re thrilled to have them back as an established band."

Also announced today is the line-ups for the Strongbow Bowtime Bar, previously the Strongbow Cider House, and The Bacardi-B Live arena.

They join a line-up of artists playing across the weekend including the headliners The Verve, and Muse who will be playing their only UK festival date. Acts also confirmed include Kings Of Leon, Stereophonics, Amy Winehouse, The Kooks, Maximo Park, Lenny Kravitz, The Feeling, Squeeze, The Prodigy, Kaiser Chiefs, The Pigeon Detectives, The Zutons, Newton Faulkner, The Hoosiers, Reverend And The Makers, Duffy, and more. Tickets are still on sale for Chelmsford priced at £145 weekend pass with camping, £70 day ticket (plus £8 booking fees). There are still combined coach, camping and weekend tickets are available for both events priced from £176.50 to £193.75 and can be purchased by clicking here.
