Y-Not festival finds Hot Club de Paris as Sunday headliner

as Saturday's Mystery Jets pull out of festival appearances

Friday 1st August 2008

Organisers of the Y-Not Festival which happens this weekend from today, Friday 1st to Sunday 3rd August over two stages at a site at Mouldridge Lane, near Matlock, Derbyshire have been trying thir best to deal with some pretty incredible bad luck when it comes to headlining acts.

Originally they had secured Cage the Elephant as Sunday headliner only to have their lead singer have an accident and pull out, they have just announced a replacement Sunday night headliner in the form of Hot Club de Paris.

However, you have to feel sorry for the organisers, as their Saturday night headliner the Mystery Jets have now been forced to cancel several festival dates as frontman and vocalist Blaine Harrison battles Spina Bifida.

The treatment means the Mystery Jets will miss several festivals in the UK including this weekend's Kendal Calling, and Standon Calling and next week's Rip Curl Boardmasters Unleashed.

However it is understand that the band will be back in action for the Summer Sundae Weekender, Field Day, and Underage Festival with their participation at Reading, and Leeds Festival also still due to go ahead.

This weekend's Y-Not Festival is expected to have an intimate nature, with many of the bands camping with festival goers, and friendly stewards. The festival has increased its capacity this year to 2500 people offering 50 acts across 2 stages with a diverse mix of music from Indie rock right through to high energy African music to Rock and Roll. Late night entertainment includes a dance tent, or camp fire singalongs and there will be real ales and local ciders available.

It is thought that one of the confirmed acts who include Frank Turner, The Virgin Marys, Edison, The Skies, The Fallout Theory, New Groove Formation, Max Raptor, Hijack Oscar, and The Fillmore Gears will take up the vacant headline slot.

Weekend tickets cost £36 and include 3 nights camping. Youth (10-15 - ID required) tickets £25. Under 10s free. Day tickets are available priced as follows: Friday £16, Saturday £19 and Sunday £14 each. To buy tickets click here. All tickets are now to be collected at the festival.
